Description:

With this project, MOLDIFLEX managed to turn a tragedy (a fire that completely destroyed the facilities and equipment in Vila Nova de Gaia) into an opportunity to modernize the company, improve processes and target more demanding market segments with new products (innovating products, processes and markets).

The company will be able to restore its entire productive structure and take the opportunity to significantly modernize and improve its competitive capacity:

  • Modernizing its productive structure;
  • Investing in the production of products for more demanding market segments with higher added value;
  • Making use of new technologies, namely through digitalization;
  • Increasing and upskilling its workforce;
  • Increasing its productive and energy efficiency;
  • Internationalizing the company.

In terms of quantified objectives:

OPERATIONAL / COMMERCIAL

  • Increase production from 35,000 m2 of stamps and plates produced (2017) to 46,033 in 2023, a growth of 30.4%;
  • Reach a turnover of 4,290,000 euros in 2023, a growth of 34.8% compared with 2017, and higher than the increase in quantities produced, thus reflecting the change in product profile (higher unit value);
  • Achieve direct exports of 900,000 euros in 2023, about 21% of its turnover, plus around 5% more indirectly;
  • Increase market share.

ECONOMIC

  • Move from a GVA of 1,311,000 euros (40% of turnover) to a GVA of 1,892,000 euros in 2023 (43% of turnover) and EBITDA of 22% of turnover, 7% higher than in 2017.

ENVIRONMENTAL / CIRCULAR ECONOMY

  • Optimize processes by using renewable energy and production processes and systems with greater environmental efficiency (savings of at least 6,000 euros through the use of photovoltaic panels).
